Parental Rights Reinforced by the Supreme Court of the United States

What parents can do as a result of Mahmoud v. Taylor

On June 27, 2025, SCOTUS handed down a massive win for parents in their decision under Mahmoud v. Taylor.  Parents can now opt-out from all objectionable material that is taught and/or made available to their children based on their strongly held religious beliefs or moral values.

KCG encourages parents to take back their child's public education by downloading the sample Request for Curriculum Opt-out Form in Word format or in PDF format, complete it for each child, print, sign and send it to your school.  We also encourage you to be diligent in being sure the school acknowledges in writing that they have received the request and will comply.

Help KCG on this Action Item

KCG would appreciate a short email response through our Contact Us page or to outreach@kentcountygrassroots.org when you submit your opt-out request to your school.  Also, KCG is here to support any responses returned by the school district that are unclear and that you would like assistance with.
